You’e heard of a man cave right? What about a mom cave? In my house, I’m usually the one who needs a time out but unless I lock myself in the bathroom (and that usually involves tiny fingers sticking under the door) there’s no where to hide.
Apparently I’m not the only one who needs a break because She Sheds are the latest trend out there and they sound AWESOME.
I’m lucky enough to have an office in my house but it’s right next to our main living area so it’s not exactly a quiet space or a great place to take a break when I’m done working for the day. A She Shed is basically a decked out shed that gives moms a quiet place to recharge. Run a quick search on Pinterest and you’ll find some awesome ones.
We like gadgets in my house so my dream She Shed would involve lots of toys. Best Buy has some great ideas for creating a high tech She Shed that doesn’t sacrifice any of the style.
Extend the Wi-Fi for endless entertainment

We definitely need to unplug sometimes but a lot of the ways I relax involves Wi-Fi. Give your Wi-Fi a bit of a boost to make sure you get great coverage in your She Shed with a Wi-Fi range extender inside your house.
Set the mood with your phone

We are huge fans of the Philips hue lights. We use them all over our home because you can set them on a timer, change the colors, or dim them — all from your phone! My husband gets overly creative with these and has them dance to the sounds of a movie. I just like setting the colors to nice, relaxing colors. My She Shed, my rules!
Turn ugly cables into art
Cables are just something you have to deal with when it comes to technology. Why not turn them into a fun work of art? I love the way this turned out and you’d never guess it was just a way to deal with the wires!

Bask in the sun (even when it rains)
One of the coolest things about the Philips hue lights is you can really use them to change the mood when you want. You can use an app called IF to automatically adjust the lighting in your She Shed based on the weather (or anything else you want). IF is something I’m just starting to play around with. It can do so many awesome things if you get creative. For example, if it rains, you can tell it to brighten the light from your hue lights. How cool is that?

Grant access without a key
Want an easy way to lock up your She Shed? You can use the August smart lock to lock and unlock your shed from your phone. You can even grant temporary access to friends remotely.

Create a hidden refreshment station
I’m all about the food. Instead of hiding treats around your kitchen (am I the only one who has to do that?) you can have a stash of treats (healthy or otherwise . . . ) stocked away in your She Shed.
