Kiddle: A Safe Version of Google for your Kids!
Did you know there’s a kid-safe version of Google now? There is and it is AWESOME!
Kiddle is a internet search engine designed just for kids. It filters out adult content and search results only include pre-filtered kid-friendly content. They layout is adorable too. It works just like Google but gives kids a space just for them.
My kids are getting older and as much as I’d like to pretend they won’t be exposed to anything they shouldn’t, technology is definitely a part of their life at this point and being online can definitely have it’s downside. I read recently that a huge percentage of kids are exposed to pornography by age 11. 11!
I have a 12 year old and I’m hoping he’s one of the exceptions to that statistic.
We definitely need to monitor our kids online but I love sites that make it easier to give kids access to technology without risking them accidentally seeing or reading something they shouldn’t have.
I tested Kiddle out and I am loving it! I had to think like a 12 year old boy to test it out:
Kiddle has some awesome features that aren’t just limited to filtering the search results. The site does not collect any personally identifiable information and they use large thumbnails and large fonts that are easy for kids to read.
