Create a Time-Out Box for Mom
I’m pretty good at dealing with chaos . Â . . which is a good thing because in a house with 6 kids, we deal with a lot of chaos. Every once in a while, though, I need a break. When things get a bit overwhelming I put myself in time-out.
Moms need a time-out sometimes too.
I put together this great little time-out kit for moms that I pull out when I need to get away for a minute. It’s filled with a few of the things that help me relax, whether I have just a few minutes or a bit longer to sneak away from the kids.
This would make an awesome gift for a new mom too if you need a creative gift idea. New moms definitely need some time to relax and de-stress!
I used a plastic box that I already had to put my time-out kit together. You could use any sort of basket, box, or bag that will fit the items you want to include in your kit.
Things you could put in your Time-Out for Mom kit include:
- A favorite book
- an eye mask
- nail polish and nail file
- bottle of water
- bath salts (I LOVE this homemade lavender bath salt recipe)
- a bath sponge
- a heated neck pillow
- chap stick
- stress ball
- scented body spray
- a fun snack
OREO just released these cute little 2-packs that are perfect for stashing away when you need a treat. I like to throw one in my purse in case I need a quick snack while I’m out and they are perfect for adding to a time-out kit. I don’t know about you, but chocolate does wonders for me when I need some stress relief and I have a series weakness for OREO cookies.
My kids LOVE these cute little snack packs though so I have to make sure and hide them if I want to keep one for myself. You can find them at your local grocery stores (sold in packages of 18). Nutter Butter cookies also come in 2-packs now if peanut butter is more yor thing.
Could you use a time-out too? What would you put in your time-out kit?
