Kids need all the positive thinking they can get these days. These picture books for kids are inspirational and do a great job encouraging positive thinking, even when it feels a bit challenging.

I’m a firm believer that we are responsible for our own attitude, but admittedly, that’s really hard to do sometimes. These positive books can help kids when they need a bit of a boost.
My daughter has struggled with feelings of anxiety this year. She’s not alone.
Having a few uplifting books that we can turn to when her feelings are a bit too big for her to cope with is so important. We’ve found some great positive picture books this year and we’ve turned to them over and over again when life feels too heavy.
Positive Books For Kids

I'll Walk with You
"If you don't walk as most people do some people walk away from you. But I won't! I won't! I'll walk beside and match your stride. That's how I'll show my love for you."
I can't think of a more important book for 2020. My girls love the song by Carol Lynn Pearson that this book is based on and the book perfectly captures all of the ideals behind it. Check out the link in my profile to learn more about the book.

I Can Do Hard Things: Mindful Affirmations for Kids
When this book first arrived my kids made me read it three times straight through. This book is filled with positive affirmations and is just what kids need when their day feels a bit challenging. One of my twins asks for this book nearly every time we read together. It has a prime place on our bookshelf and makes those hard days just a bit easier.

I Am Enough
"I am enough" is something that every child needs to hear every single day. This book manages to hone into the magic of childhood and is such a motivational read. The illustrations perfectly capture the essence of the words and are absolutely gorgeous. This book is another one that my kids request over and over again because it makes them feel good about themselves, which is the very best thing I can help them do each day.

[I Like Myself!] [Author: Beaumont, Karen] [August, 2010]
We've had this book at the front of our bookshelf since my boys were little. It's such a great book with an uplifting message.

Dear Girl,: A Celebration of Wonderful, Smart, Beautiful You!
This book is amazingly sweet without being sappy and is the perfect pick-me-up at the end of a hard day. Dear Girl, serves as a reminder that each little girl is just as wonderful, smart, and beautiful and she used to think she was and there are so many pages in this that spark conversation with kids who need a little help opening up.
Dear Girl, is focused on the smart little girls in your life, however they do have Dear Boy, if you are trying to uplift a little boy.

We're All Wonders
Wonder is a favorite book around my house and We're All Wonders is a fantastic way to take the spirit of the book to a younger audience. I love the message behind this book and the illustrations really draw kids in.

Only One You
I bought this book for my girls for Christmas one year and was immediately glad that I did. This book is so visually appealing and has a fantastic message. Kids need all the reminders they can get that they are important and unique.

Mindfulness is something kids can learn at a young age that will help them throughout their life. This beautiful little book breaks down the process of becoming mindful and helps kids understand how to sit with their feelings and find happiness each day.

This book is beautifully done and is the perfect way to end the day. It is filled with positive affirmations that will give kids the courage they need to face another day.

McElligot's PoolÂ
This book is a classic and while I'm always a fan of "Oh, the Places You'll Go", "McElligot's Pool" has a special place in my heart. When it comes to teaching kids about sticking to things and persisting even when things are hard, there's no better book to read.
