Revisit a Favorite with the Downton Abbey DVD Release

The new Downton Abbey DVD is now available in Walmart and it is a must-watch over the holiday season. This new movie brings back all the characters you love and is the perfect way to spend a movie night at home.

I took some convincing to watch the Downton Abbey TV show the first time around. My mom is British and I grew up watching a lot of British television.

By the time I was a teenager I was over it and thought that all the shows moved too slowly. I didn’t get all the small nuances of humor that were in there.

When I was on bedrest with my daughter, my sister convinced me to give British TV another shot and convinced me that Downton Abbey was the way to go.

I binge-watched the first 3 seasons, almost without a break, and was hooked from there on out.

There’s so many amazing storylines in Downton Abbey and I loved getting to know the characters. I was so sad when the series ended.

You don’t have to say goodbye quite yet though because the new Downton Abbey DVD is now available in Walmart and brings back all the characters that you love.

My teenage son is my unexpected British movie buddy. He has completely embraced his British heritage and loves settling in for a movie (or TV) night filled with dry British humor.

This kid loves his herbal tea and has even taught himself to knit (but don’t tell his friends. He’s keeping that little gem hidden so his friends don’t give him a hard time).

When he found out that the Downton Abbey DVD was coming out, he may have been more excited than I was.

We settled in for a Downton Abbey movie night and had a blast. I LOVED the movie. The DVD is an expansion from the series so it was fun to revisit some of the storylines that I enjoyed in the TV series and see how the characters had continued on.

It was so fun seeing how the characters had evolved since the end of the series. I’m always sad when a series ends because you really do miss the characters so this was a fun opportunity to catch up.

The Best British Movie Night Tea

We have a favorite herbal tea we always love to make when we settle in for a movie night.

Ingredients

• Chamomile tea
• honey
• 1 Tbsp. cream
• 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Make your chamomile tea according to the directions on the box. I like to steep this for a few extra minutes to make it a bit stronger.

Add cream, vanilla, and honey to taste.
