How to Find the Perfect Pair of Glasses
I have a confession to make. It’s been ten years since I’ve bought myself a new pair of glasses.
My last pair met an untimely end at the hands of one of my twins and I’ve been making them work just because I had no idea what I wanted to replace them with.
Buying a new pair of glasses can be a bit intimidating and it’s easy to put it off. Fortunately, the awesome people at JCPenney Optical had some great tips and helped me through the process of finding a new pair of glasses that I love.
I stopped by with my family the other week and the people there were so great to work with. They talked me through the different options I had, helped me find the right shape glasses for my face and let me find something that really worked for me.
They took the pressure out of shopping for a new pair of frames and really helped me understand what my options were.
If you are thinking about getting a new pair of glasses, I have a few tips that might make the process a bit easier for you.
Bring Someone to Give you a Second Opinion – Glasses are one one of those things that can be hard to pick on your own. I always love having a second (or third) opinion on glasses, whether I’m shopping for prescription glasses or sunglasses.
I brought my husband along with me and he helped point out things that I hadn’t noticed on my own . . . like the fact that the olive green pair I was set on darkened my face and the same pair of frames in deep purple brightened my entire face.
Find out what style glasses works with your face shape – Some glasses definitely are more flattering than others.
Some were a hit . . .
Some were a miss . . .
The people at JC Penneys helped me determine what shape worked best on my face and from there it was easy to find a frame that I loved.
In the end I found a pair of glasses I’m really happy with. I ended up with the pair below in a deep purple color which is such a fun change.
Decide how bold you are willing to go. Glasses can be a great fashion statement. You have to decide how bold you are willing to be in your frame choice.
A few things to consider:
Do you wear glasses every day?
Do you have a second pair of frames if you need something more conservative?
In my case, I primarily wear contacts so I felt like I could make a bolder statement with my glasses and go with a fun frame.
