Homemade Frozen Lemonade
Summer just begs for frozen lemonade. On a hot day, there’s nothing more refreshing than a big glass of frozen lemonade and homemade version rivals any frozen lemonade you’d get at your favorite restaurant or theme park.
I love lemons. There’s something about the tartness that perks me up and is this frozen lemonade is so thirst quenching. I leave mine just a bit on the tart side because I love it like that but you could definitely add a bit less lemon juice if you want it a little sweeter.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups lemon juice (fresh squeezed is best but you can also find some great quality lemon juice at most grocery stores)
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 cups ice
Preparation
In a blender combine the lemon juice, sugar, and ice. I love my Blendtec for this because it makes everything so smooth. I didn’t know what I was missing before I switched to using it and now I don’t know how I ever made smoothies or frozen drinks without it.
This is really such a simple drink. You can add less lemon juice if you want it a bit sweeter. I pour my glass then just add extra ice to the blender for the people in my family who want a little less tartness.
This is perfect for a summer treat or any other time of the year! I love it as a way to cool down at a summer BBQ.
