How to Have the Best Staycation Ever
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Banana Boat®. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Can’t go anywhere this summer? That doesn’t mean your summer has to be a bust! If you can’t travel because of money, work, or like myself, you are 8 months pregnant, there are still plenty of ways to have the #bestsummerever!
I look forward to summertime all year, and I wasn’t going to let a lack of travel plans spoil my fun! I wanted to get as much family time in as possible and create some memories for my young toddler. We are lucky enough to have a lot of family members close by that we can get together with all summer.
Here are some of my tips on how to make the most of your summer at home!
1. Get outside as MUCH as possible.
Don’t waste your summer in front of the tv! I always regret it when the weather cools down and I feel like I didn’t spend enough time outside. We like to go for hikes, bike rides, walks, picnics, and of course, swim! I’ve had some of my best days just hanging out in my backyard and letting my daughter play in her paddling pool. Plus, we could all use some extra vitamin D.
2. Going along with #1, protect your skin!
Getting a sunburn will quickly cut your fun short. Kids will copy everything you do so set an example for skin protection while they are young. Its important to apply your sunscreen 30 minutes before going outside and then reapplying every two hours for it to be effective.
I was able to try out some new Banana Boat products recently and they have great options for everyone in the family. I have always loved their products because I know I can absolutely trust them to work. The new products I tried are the Dry Oil Clear UltraMist® Sunscreen, Sport Performance® Lotion Sunscreen and SunComfort™ Clear UltraMist® Sunscreen. I personally loved theDry Oil Clear UltraMist® the most because it isn’t greasy and it smells amazing. TheSport Performance® Lotion is great for when you need some heavier protection and for kids that are running around and sweating, because it won’t come off! The SunComfort™ Clear UltraMist® is just a great general sun protection that is easy to apply and will work well for anyone in the family.
3. Find out what events and activities are going on locally, and go do them!
Where I live, we like to go to the fairs, rodeos, and farmers markets that go on throughout the summer.
4. Plan Mini Family Reunions.
It’s so important to create family memories in the summer. If you have any relatives within driving distance, plan a day where you can get together for a barbecue and activities. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or expensive! Just have some fun in the sun and enjoy some good food together. There are also some great activity ideas on the Banana boat Great Big Family Reunion website.
5. Write a SUmmer Bucket List.
Check off as many items as possible. It’s fun to look back and see all the things you were able to do. It also helps you stick to things you’ve planned on doing.
