Last-Minute Holiday Prep as a Work at Home Mom

The holidays are a busy time of year for anyone but as a work at home mom this time of year can be especially challenging. I have a lot on my plate running several small businesses and trying to make the holidays memorable for my family. Office Depot helps me get organized and manage all the things that I’m juggling and is also a great place to find last-minute gift ideas.

I love the holiday season but as we get to the end of it I start to stress that I’m forgetting something. I find that doing a last-minute evaluation of where I am prevents me from missing anything and helps me feel much more put together.

As a small business owner currently running three small businesses, I’m used to juggling. Sometimes I need a little help though. Office Depot is a great resource for me, not just for last-minute gift ideas but also to help me get everything on my to-do list done. I recently stopped by Office Depot to get my favorite Daily planner printed and it has been helping to keep me on task each day.

I enjoy holiday shopping much more when I know that the things I need to get done for work are finished and out of the way.

I’m a big fan of functional gifts so Office Depot and OfficeMax are my go-to stores for gifts (and I say go-to loosely because I’m totally going to shop online or use their Buy Online Pick up in Store option).

Make a list and check it twice

I know, I KNOW. But seriously, the holiday season will go so much smoother if you know that you’ve got everything covered.

Make a list of the people you need to buy gifts for. I like to write down gift ideas as I think of them because when I get busy ideas seem to go out of my head as quickly as I think of them.

Print your Holiday Cards Early

Holiday cards can be an added stress, but they are such a fun way to update your friends and family members on your year. Make things easy on yourself and get them done early. We usually do family photos very early in the fall so we aren’t waiting to get our photos back and we can print them before the holiday rush.

Look for gifts that can be used all year long

There are always a few people on your holiday shopping list that are harder to buy for. I hate buying gifts that don’t get used for long so I look for practical gifts that can be used all year long.

The last few weeks before the holidays are always hectic. Make things easier on yourself by wrapping gifts as you buy them.

This not only gets one more task off your to-do list but it is great to prevent prying eyes from sneaking a peek.

I set up a gift wrapping station in my basement for the holiday season to keep things simple. This does not have to be complicated. I have a spare table in my office that I stock with everything I need to wrap gifts and leave things out until I’m done with all of my gift wrapping for the holidays.

I love that I can count on Office Depot and OfficeMax to help me finish up my holiday prep.
