Prioritize Life with this Printable To-Do List
I’m a big fan of to-do lists. I always have one on my desk. It’s usually way too long, but there’s something so satisfying about checking things off the list and seeing some progress during the day.
They can be a little bit overwhelming too, though, can’t they?
Once you get to the point when your to-do list becomes more than you can reasonably tackle in a day, it’s probably time to push things to another day. For days like that, we love this to-do list. It helps you prioritize the things that absolutely have to happen in a day, and move the rest to later.
We know you are busy. Life as a mom can get super hectic and just a bit overwhelming. We’ve all been there.
I’ve had more days like that than I’d care to admit. When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I have a secret weapon I like to use — my favorite to-do list helps me prioritize and focus on the things that need to get done right now. Everything else can wait until tomorrow.
Before you download this, there’s one thing almost everyone does wrong when it comes to making to-do lists.
Have you read the book, The 4-Hour Work Week? This is the absolutely best resource I’ve found about prioritizing the things on your to-do list and making time for what is important to you. I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook version of this. I listen to it in short spurts while doing the dishes or editing photos (thank you Amazon Echo!), which works perfectly because there’s just so much information to digest.
In the book, he recommends something that has been LIFE CHANGING for me, when it comes to my to-do list and prioritizing my life.
He recommends that you never have more than 5 items on your to-do list at a time.
Sit down each day, and evaluate what 5 things absolutely have to get done. Think of 5 things that, if finished, will make you feel like you accomplished something that day.
Those are your essential tasks for the day.
Everything else can wait.
Those 5 essential tasks? That’s what I want you to put on your To-Do Now list. All the rest can go on the To-Do later list.
If you get more than your 5 tasks done in a day, great! If not, then you still had a productive day.
