Shaving Cream Puffy Paint Snowflakes
Are you looking for a fantastic art project for kids? This snowflake art project uses homemade shaving cream puffy paint and combines all the best parts of sensory activities and art!
My kids love making these shaving cream puffy paint snowflakes. The homemade puffy paint looks so cool when it drys (and feels pretty cool too). This is such a different texture from regular paint that it’s really a neat art experience for kids.
I love that this art project uses materials you have around the house. We stock up on cheap, store-brand shaving cream to make these snowflakes (and other projects) with.
You can definitely get creative with this art project. Try different patterns and techniques. Play around with it a bit. We sprinkle our puffy paint with glitter to create cute, sparkly snowflakes when we are done but you could try using sugar, sequins, or anything else you have on hand.

Shaving Cream Puffy Paint Snowflakes
First, you need to make your puffy paint. This is super easy to make. Combine 2 parts shaving cream with 1 part white glue.
Try and stir this as little as possible so the shaving cream stays nice and puffy.
Mix in some glitter or any other add-in you’d like to use.
Use your craft stick to “paint” with the shaving cream. You can freehand a snowflake or draw one with pencil and then trace over it.
For younger kids, I just set them loose and let them do their own thing. I tried this with my twins but they apparently weren’t quite ready for non-edible art projects. The first thing the did was try and taste the puffy paint. If you want to do something similar with younger kids you could just use whipped cream.
