DIY Giant Bubbles to Celebrate the Teletubbies Bubbles DVD Release (Giveaway)
Thanks to Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for sponsoring this post.
My kids have grown up on Teletubbies so when we heard about the Teletubbies Bubbles DVD release we were excited to check it out. My twins are obsessed with Teletubbies at the moment (and their British grandmother couldn’t be more pleased), and as a mom, I love the way the show encourages social development.

Kids LOVE bubbles. There’s something about them that just captures their attention.

The Teletubbies Bubbles DVD takes everything kids love about bubbles and creates an amazing show that kids love. One of my twins was crying (and clearly needed a nap) when I turned the show on, and within minutes the show had captured her attention and she had calmed down.

That’s one thing that I love about Teletubbies. The Teletubbies love to laugh and they always brighten up kids as they watch. I often find my kids laughing along with the show.
The bubbles were definitely a hit in this new DVD. One of my twins kept yelling, “Look mama! A real bubble!”.
The only thing missing is the ability to pop the bubbles.
I loved how relaxing this show was. It felt like the perfect pre-nap time activity to help my kids wind down. Watching all the different kinds of bubbles was relaxing for my preschoolers (and for me).
The show features a “bubble party” with all kinds of bubbles, including a giant bubble that kids could stand inside. My twins could not stop giggling at that part and asked to see it again. Fortunately, Teletubbies is on top of that and always shows the clips twice.

You can find the Teletubbies Bubbles DVD in stores now. The Teletubbies are celebrating “20 Years of Big Hugs” throughout 2017 and this DVD release is the perfect way to celebrate.
DIY Giant Bubble Solution
To celebrate the release of the Teletubbies Bubbles DVD, we had an afternoon making giant bubbles in the backyard. I don’t know a kid that doesn’t love bubbles (even my teenager jumped in on the action) and these homemade bubbles make the most amazing bubbles ever.
Giant Bubble Solution Ingredients:
- 1.5 Tbsp. guar gum powder
- 2-4 Tbsp. rubbing alcohol
- 3 gallons of hot tap water
- 2 Tbsp. baking powder
- 10 oz. Dawn Power Clean Platinum dish soap
How to Make the Giant Bubble Solution:
Find a large, wide bucket to use. We had a large tin container we use in the garden that worked perfectly.

Measure out 3 gallons of the hottest tap water you can get and add the baking powder. Mix well. Make sure there are no lumps in the mixture.
Set that mixture aside and in another bowl, add the guar gum powder and rubbing alcohol. Blend them until smooth.
Quickly stir the bucket of water and when you have it moving fast enough that there is a slight vortex in the center, pour the guar gum slurry into it. Continue to stir for about a minute. It will thicken as you stir.
Slowly mix the dish soap into the mixture. Stir carefully to avoid creating any foam.
Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes and you are ready to make some bubbles!
Use a giant bubble wand (like this one) and create the most amazing bubbles you have ever seen.

You can even put your kids inside a bubble if you want (just like they do in the Teletubbies Bubbles DVD)!

we love the theme song of the teletubbies and the babby .
True mom confession: I hate the Teletubbies; it seems like something stoned college kids would watch. I love Peppa Pig, and PAW Patrol has grown on me, but Teletubbies? Nope. However, my littlest will watch it with rapt attention while I get a load of laundry folded or do dishes, so, hey. Bring on the creepy little Teletubbies 😀
