A Homemade Christmas
Christmas will be here before we know it. Are you ready? Have you bought everything you need? Are you finding that you do not have enough money to get everything you need? Why not think about making something yourself to give? A homemade item shows you cared enough to take the time to think about the person you will be giving the gift to. I have been looking for some great ideas online and found several that really don’t have to cost me a lot and I want to share them.Â
Crockpot Soap
Stephanie from A Year of Slow Cooking gives an idea for making Christmas soaps in the crockpot. I have heard lots about this soap making and have wanted to give it a try for awhile. It does have some basic supplies you will need to buy to get you started but once you have the molds, you will not need to buy them again. This would be nice in a gift basket and would make a great gift for a friend or teacher.
Broken Crayon Monograms
If you have kids like me, you probably have lots of broken crayons around your house. Why not reuse them and make a special gift for your child’s teacher. I think these make nic teacher gifts, but anyone would really enjoy them. You can find the frames at a Dollar Store, so that helps keep the cost of the project down. Heather who post at Dollar Store Crafts shared this really cool idea.
Placemat Purse
Deborah, from Woderwoman Creations, shares how you can make a purse out of a placemat for under $5. This would be a great gift for any woman. A teacher or friend would love it. You can usually find the placemats on sale or use one that you have on hand that has not been used much. Some sewing skills are required for this project.
Denim Rosette Headband
Kara from Creations from Kara shows us how to make a headband for under $1.00. You can buy the muti-pack head bands for $1.00 at most Dollar Stores and then use and recycle an old pair of jeans. I think any little girl would love this gift.Â
The 15 Minute Bandana Dress
Tanya from Trey and Lucy: Kids, Crafts, Sewing, and More shares how to make a bandana dress with just 2 bandanas and some ribbon.  Any little girl would look adorable in this cute dress. Tanya shows you how to make it in only 15 minutes. I never have a lot of time to spare during the holidays but I could probably find 15 minutes.
No-Sew Bandana Tote Bag
Another great idea using bandanas comes from Making Friends, they show us how to make a Bandana Tote Bag. I like this project because almost anyone can do it because there is no sewing involved. This makes a great gift for any little girl. I think adults would even like this one.Â
Homemade Christmas
Using some of these ideas, you can have a homemade Christmas. These ideas will help stretch your holiday budget. You can also find a lot of ideas online, so go searching. I hope each of you have a wonderful homemade Christmas.
