American Underdog is the Family Movie You Need This Year

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is that there are usually some great family-friendly movies in the theatre and this year does not disappoint. American Underdog is a story of overcoming the odds and is one that promises to leave you with all the feels.
Full disclosure: I am not a huge sports person but I love a great feel-good sports movie. That’s just what American Underdog promises to be. This movie tells the true story of Kurt Warner (Zachary Levi) and the odds he overcame to go from a stockboy at a grocery store to a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion, and Hall of Fame quarterback.
American Underdog is in theaters everywhere on Christmas Day and is looks like a film that everyone in the family will love. My family actually loves going to the movies on Christmas Day and this movie is high on the list of contenders.
I wasn’t familiar with the story of Kurt Warner before watching the trailer for American Underdog but now I’m so impressed by his journey and can’t wait to see the full movie. He had so many challenges that could have prevented him from making it as a football player but the love of his family and the support of his coaches and teammates pulled him through.
I love that it has the excitement of a feel-good sports movie but also includes strong elements of faith and family. His wife’s storyline is super interesting to me and I can’t wait to see the way they portrayed her in the movie.
I have 3 teenage boys right now and sometimes it feels like it can be difficult to help them see all the possibilities that are out there for them. I love giving them the chance to see stories of people who have overcome great odds to succeed because I hope they always keep pushing forward towards their dreams.
