Celebrate Disneyland’s Diamond Anniversary

Disneyland is the ultimate family vacation spot and right now through September 5th they are celebrating their Diamond Anniversary. Can you believe Disneyland has been around for 6o years!

I would love to go back in time and walk through the park during the early years. I can only imagine how much it has changed.

My family had the chance to take one last summer adventure together and check out all the fun things Disneyland has going on for the Diamond Celebration.

We teamed up with Reserve Direct, a great resource for discount theme park tickets. I know, as a family of 8, we are always looking for ways to save money when we travel so I love how easy they make it. We changed things up a bit and went on a photo scavenger hunt. Disneyland is all decked out for the Diamond Celebration. Everywhere we turned there were amazing decorations. Sleeping Beauty’s Castle is elaborately decorated and looks like it is straight out of a fairy tale.

We loved the decadent desserts we found in the park. This White Chocolate Bavarian Diamond Strawberry-Rhubarb Shortcake at the Carnation Cafe was the perfect combination of old-fashioned and a little upscale. It was the perfect treat after a long day.

My family has made a lot of amazing memories at Disneyland. Every time we go we are just amazed at the way we are able to focus on each other and really enjoy being together as a family without all the distractions of our normal busy schedule.

Visiting Disneyland with twin toddlers is a unique experience and definitely added a few challenges to our day but it was so worth it to see them discovering the things about Disneyland that the rest of us already love.

My kids always love meeting the characters so we had to fit that into our day.

I think we embarrassed Woody a bit though because my daughter gave him a big kiss and made him blush.

We discovered some amazing lobster rolls at a little place over by Splash Mountain (and I’m kicking myself for not finding these earlier!).

What was even more surprising was how much my daughter loved them. We kept going back for more!

We had such a great day and will be talking about this trip for a long time.
