A Visit to The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium
Thanks to Loveland Living Planet Aquarium for sponsoring this post.Â
Are you looking for something amazing to do with your kids this summer? The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is a must-see destination for families in Utah. We had the chance to visit recently and my kids absolutely loved it.
Having just moved from California, my family has missed being so close to some amazing zoos and aquariums. We were excited to find out that the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium had expanded and had a brand new building. We had visited years ago and loved it, so we were excited to visit again and see what was new.
We were so surprised to see just how much the aquarium has grown. They have some amazing exhibits and my family loved spending the day there. We were there almost from open to close and we still could have stayed longer. There was just so much to see.
The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is set up to let your family experience ecosystems from around the world, including Journey to South America, Expedition: Asia, the Deep Sea, the South Pole, the Ocean and more.Â
Each ecosystem really gave you a great look at what life is like in the area.
We absolutely loved the Journey to South America. It felt like we were walking through a real rainforest and there were so many things to look at.
My twins couldn’t get over how big some of the fish were. They were a bit intimidated but now those giant fish are all they can talk about.
We had some amazing opportunities to get right up close with the fish and my kids were mesmerized.
My kids loved learning more about each animal they saw by reading the signs. It was so fun to hear their compare fun facts with each other as they each discovered different things at the exhibits.
It’s interesting when we go places because I have older kids and younger kids. It can be tricky finding something that everyone can enjoy together but they all loved our visit to the aquarium.
There were some great hands-on activities that my older kids got a kick out of.
My younger kids loved looking at all the animals. They hated to leave each tank to move on to the next exhibit but then they always found something new to grab their attention.
One thing that shocked all of us is that they have way more than just aquatic animals. They had everything from birds to penguins. They even had a gorgeous leopard that was so much fun to see.
My girls could have stayed and watched the Penguins all day long. They were so active, which made them very entertaining to watch.
My older kids had a blast checking out each penguin’s name and trying to find them in the tank. Once they did that, you could definitely start to notice certain personality traits standing out. I’m sure they’ll be looking for a few favorites during our next visit.
My kids have grown up going to aquariums and we were so excited to discover that The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium
Extra Perks at The Aquarium
The Aquarium has some amazing extra activities you can participate in while you are there. We watched several movies in 4D while we were there and loved them. I couldn’t get over how much detail you could see in the wild cats movie!
We ran into several of the Animal Feeds and Animal Meet & Greets while we were there and I’m told they also do Story Time. You can see all the events listed on the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium calendar page here.
There’s always something amazing happening at the Aquarium. I’m looking forward to Shark Week in July!
