Organize your Christmas Stockings with This Easy Hack

Do you find yourself running out to the store days before Christmas because you need extra things to add to your Christmas stockings?

This holiday hack will help you make sure your stockings are filled and ready to go so there’s no need for last minute runs to the store.

We used to always leave shopping for Christmas stockings until last and we nearly always came up short and needed to do an extra run to the store. It added a lot of extra stress to our holiday planning!

Once I discovered this easy holiday organization hack, our Christmas stockings are done and ready to go, without any extra stress.

I try and do most of my holiday shopping early so I can enjoy the holidays. I buy things here and there as I find them on sale or come across things the kids would like.

Even with my early planning, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve realized that one child’s stocking was filled with drastically less than a siblings and had to run to the store at the last minute.

Even if I did buy evenly for each child, I’ve had years where I hit my purchases too well and couldn’t find them until after Christmas! That definitely did help my holiday stress level.

Ready to simplify your holiday season?

The contents of a gallon size ZipLoc bag fits perfectly inside a Christmas stocking. 

I like these ZipLoc bags with the zip top because I can open and close them easily whenever I need to add things to the bags. You can grab them on Amazon here and save yourself a trip to the store.

I set aside a bag for each child and write their name on the outside.

As I find items to add to our Christmas stockings, I just add them to bag of the correct child.

When I’m ready to put together our holiday stockings, all I have to do is transfer the contents of each child’s Ziploc bag into their stocking and it is ready to go. Easy!

Smart Mom Tip: Have extra Halloween candy? Pull out anything that has Halloween packaging and use the rest to stuff your kids’ stockings! Your kids will eat less candy now and you’ll have less to buy later. Win-win!
