Pregnancy Guide – Week 24
Feeling better yet?
Now that you are well past the halfway point you may experience a punch of energy. For most, the morning sickness is a thing of the past. You probably haven’t gained enough wait to be incredibly uncomfortable. This is usually the most productive and enjoyable period of your pregnancy. This is great time to start to get the baby’s room ready, at least to the point of a concrete idea. It is also a great time for really relishing the joy of being pregnant. You are probably feeling your little one’s movements on a regular basis. Take a rest each day and just enjoy how very close you are to your child. If you are an avid reader, read aloud to your child, mom’s voice can be very calming. This is also a great time to pamper yourself a little bit. Sign up for a girls weekend with your pals and get some much needed relaxation – just be sure that the facility you choose has staff that are knowledgeable about pregnancy do’s and don’ts. Get yourself a new hairdo, paint your toes and live a little.
You can still travel, within reason, and you can still participate in lots of activities. I strongly encourage you to have lots of experiences as husband and wife at this point, especially if this is your first child. Life is going to be drastically different, from the day your child is born. Again, this is not to be negative, it just is what it is. The dynamic of your family and thus your social life will undergo a huge transformation. And for many your priorities will change a lot. You will not longer be able to go to the movies in a moments notice, and you may not even want to. Eating at your favorite bar will have to be reserved for Date Night. Now that you are feeling better it is a great time to reconnect with your husband, take a romantic getaway, and as I said spend time as husband and wife. You will want your relationship to be at its strongest so that you can deal with the stresses of a newborn as a united team.
