Support your Local School with Box Tops for Education
My family has been traveling for the last several weeks. While it’s been fun catching up with family and getting to know my new nephew, in the back of my mind I’ve been thinking about how quickly the new school year is sneaking up on us (and all the things I still need to do to get ready for it). I have 6 kids so back-to-school season is an elaborate process, especially now that I have one in middle school and kids who are attending two different schools and homeschooling.
I wish I could go back and tell myself as a young mom how much simpler things were when my kids were toddlers.
Education is a huge priority in our home and we make a real effort to support my kids’ schools as much as we can financially as well. The schools are always in need of funds and supplies. It’s not always in my budget to make a large contribution though but one of the ways I can give back is by taking advantage of the Box Tops for Education program.
Box Tops for Education has contributed over $525 million to participating schools since the launch of the program in 1996. They make it really easy to help your local school out. Each Box Top is worth $0.10 for your child’s school and the school an use Box Top cash for anything they need. It’s a great way to help out your local school by buying things you’d use anyway. Over 80,000 k-8 schools participate so it’s definitely worth seeing if your school is one of them.
We had a ten hour trip to get back home so stocking up on snacks before we left was essential. We stopped by Sam’s Club to find a few treats for my kids. My kids are much happier if they are snacking so we make sure to have plenty for them to snack on, including a few special occasion treats.
Sam’s Club makes it really easy to see which products you can earn Box Tops cash for your school with. Each Box Tops product had a large label on the front letting you know exactly how many Box Tops points you could earn for your school.
We are still a few week’s away from school starting here but I love that I have a good stack of Box Tops to turn in for my school already. Schools can always use more cash and participating in the Box Tops for Education program is a great way to give back without breaking your budget.
How do you give back to your child’s school?
