Tips for You and Your Wallet to Survive Black Friday
Black Friday is a wonderful time to find a lot of great deals at your favorite stores to save some money this holiday season. As good as the sales are though, we sometimes seem to overspend. Here are some tips for you and your wallet to survive Black Friday.
1. Create a budget–Â This is the most important step in not overspending this holiday season.
2. Make a gift list– After you know how much you are going to spend on each person, make a list of all those you have to buy for and what you plan to buy for that person.
3. Shop only for the ones on your list– There are some great deals and if you buy for yourself make sure you really need it and it really is a great deal. I go with a plan and just shop for the people on my list.
4. Don’t bring your credit cards–Â Having a credit card will make you think you have more money than you really do or planned to spend so try to shop with cash that you have already budgeted for the trip.
5. Bring your kids– This will definately make you spend less because kids have a time limit for how long they will stay happy in the store. However, I leave mine at home because I am usually buying for them, so see #6
6. Bring someone with you– I like to bring my husband with me because he helps keep me on track and talks me out of things I might have bought if by myself because I thought was a good deal but did not really need. Also, having someone with you is good because there are a lot of theives out there. Make sure you know where your purse or wallet is at all times because Black Friday is a great time for people to steal while you are searching for deals. It is also a good idea to bring someone else with you so you can get all the deals you want. Sometimes the deals go fast.
7. Keep your reciepts– This is good because if you do buy something on impulse you can take it back without a lot of problems because you have your reciept.
8. Don’t Eat Out– Shopping takes a lot out of you and you will be hungry. Avoid the temptation to eat out and go home when you feel hungry. That will help you save even more money.
I hope each of you have fun on Black Friday and stay safe!
Great tips Lorie! One year my husband went out with his dad and the credit card company called thinking that his card had been stollen. That was not a good sign! He’s never lived that one down. This year I may have to send him out without his wallet.
