Tutoring for the Next Generation: Text Yup to Learn
Thank you Yup for sponsoring this post. Provide your child with instant homework help, 24/7 and get homework done!
School is different these days. Students work on tablets and computers. Many don’t even have textbooks. Even the subjects have changed. I took Algebra and Calculus, my son is currently taking Secondary Mathematics 1 Honors…I really have no idea what that means.
They also study differently, students prefer to text for help instead of being face-to-face or even making a phone call. This is where Yup saves the day!
Yup is an iOS and Android app that makes it easy for students to chat through a text message-like platform with a tutor who can give immediate help. Students simply take a picture of the problem that they are working on and ask for a tutor to help. Then Yup connects them with a tested, trained and tracked tutor that can help walk them through where they are stuck.
My son commented that it was really easy to text the tutor through the app and tutor was a lot smarter than his friends.
Yup tutors include teachers, students from elite colleges, and professors. Less than 2% of applicants are accepted.
What really impressed me was the way the tutor taught my son. He was a lot more patient with my son than I typically am. Additionally, he would not give him any part of the answer (even though my son tried hard to get it) but rather he provided similar examples and walked him through how to solve it himself.
The Yup tutor was also exceptionally complimentary and even gave my son a gold star when he successfully learned the concept. My teenage son laughed a bit at that but honestly I think he appreciated the acknowledgement that he was on the right path to understanding the concepts.
It really lessened the anxiety of learning new concepts. The tutor even confirmed with him that he was not helping him during a quiz or a test.
With 6 kids, it’s really nice to know that Yup has my back and is definitely capable of helping my kids with their math, physics or chemistry homework. I even found out that multiple kids can share the time allotted. I definitely look forward to using it to help my kids succeed.
