What your Kids Really Want This Christmas
This post is sponsored by Kohl’s. I was paid for this post and received the included toys as compensation.
I love shopping for the holidays but I also want to make sure I get my kids some gifts that they will love. I’m sharing some of our favorite toy picks for the holidays, including the toys that are at the top of my kids’ wish lists.
Kohl’s has a fabulous selection of toys at great prices. Get all of your holiday shopping done with one quick online order (with an option for in-store pickup) so you can get back to enjoying the holiday season with your family.

Are you ready to start thinking about Christmas? I legit feel like this year just started and now it is almost over.
If you know a little bit of our family story, you know that I have three older boys, a big gap, then three little girls. In a way, we started over, but every holiday season I feel so lucky I get to hold onto the magic of celebrating Christmas with littles all over again.
There’s nothing like watching kids get so excited about opening presents Christmas morning. I remember anxiously looking forward to Christmas morning as a kid and now it is so fun to watch my kids do the same.
That being said, with six kids, we have a TON of stuff in our house. I’ve gotten really picky about what I’ll buy because I definitely don’t want to create clutter.
We have a few brands we really love and know the kids will get a lot of play time out of them. Some of our favorites are Melissa & Doug, Fisher Price, Hot Wheels, Disney Princess, and Lego.

Every year I count on Kohl’s to have the toys that we want at a great price. I made it easy on myself this year by ordering everything early. It helps me enjoy the holiday season so much more when I have my shopping out of the way.

What Do Your Kids Really Want This Christmas?
After 6 kids, I know what toys are going to get played with and which ones will entertain my kids for an hour before being put aside.
Toys to Inspire Creativity

My girls love to create so that’s definitely something I want to encourage with the Christmas gifts that I buy. Some of our favorite creative kids have been from Melissa and Doug. We’ve tried quite a few over the years and they’ve always been a hit.
They have some really creative projects that kids love. The Water Wow! Series is one we’ve loved in the past, along with the Puffy Sticker Activity Books.
The Melissa & Doug Peel & Press Sticker by Numbers Mystical Unicorn is one that is new to us but I know that my 6-year-old is going to love it.
One thing I love about these creative toys from Melissa and Doug is that it gives my kids something fun to do Christmas Day. That helps them create such fun memories of the holiday and it’s one of the few days of the year that they will happily play together without any arguing (mostly because they really want a chance to play with each other’s toys, but I’ll take whatever I can get!).

Toys that Teach

Before you groan and tell me “kids don’t want educational toys”, I promise they really do, especially when there are such fun options out there like this Magnetic Human Body Play Set from Melissa & Doug.

Toys are such a great way to make learning fun and there’s no better gift that I can think of. I like to focus on educational toys that are hands-on and expand on interests that my kids already have or might appeal to them.
We look for a few great, educational toys every year. Some of these have sparked new interests in my kids that they wouldn’t have had otherwise.
Toys that encourage Pretend Play
One of my favorite things is watching my kids while they are engaged in pretend play. I know that the stage doesn’t last nearly as long as I’d like it to so I like to encourage it any way I can. Pretend play is not only adorable, it’s great for children’s development.

With my little girls, dolls are always a favorite. We snagged some Disney Princess dolls from Kohl’s along with a super cute Minnie Mouse toy from Fisher Price that is going to be a huge hit with one of my twins.
One of my daughters has been asking for this cute little Beauty Salon from Melissa & Doug every time she’s seen it in the store so it was at the top of my shopping list for her and was a great deal at Kohl’s.

You can never go wrong with Disney Princess toys. We always include at least one for each little girl under the tree.

This year, I’m setting a goal to enjoy the holidays more. I love this time with my kids so I’m making sure that I have a few great toys for them to enjoy on Christmas morning, but I’m also keeping my shopping simple by getting it out of the way early.
