5 Family-Friendly Things to Do in Colorado Springs

If you are looking for an amazing, family-friendly place to visit, Colorado Springs is a great choice.

My dad was born in Colorado Springs and we were able to go back and visit when I was a kid. I had so much fun and there were just so many fun things to do there. Now, as an adult, I realize how beautiful Colorado Springs is too, making it the top of our list of places to visit with my own kids.

When we travel, we always look for some unique places to visit, and Colorado Springs has all the gorgeous views and fun little spots you could ask for.

Here are a few of our favorite places in Colorado Springs to visit with kids:

Garden of the Gods Park

When it comes to stunning views, it doesn’t get much better than the Garden of the Gods Park. Be sure to pack well for the day and include snacks, plenty of water, and a basic first-aid kit.

My family loves hiking and you sure can’t beat the views that you have here.

Walk Downtown Colorado Springs

I love getting a feel for places we visit by walking the downtown area. Downtown Colorado Springs is filled with great little shops, fabulous restaurants, and often has festivals or events going on.

When traveling with kids, we have the best luck with eating dinner early in the day to avoid the dinner crowds. It gives us plenty of time to enjoy a new restaurant without having to worry about long waits or kids acting up in crowded restaurants.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

We love visiting different zoos and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a fabulous place to visit with kids. Named the 4th Best Zoo in North America, this is one stop you won’t want to miss.

My kids always love visiting the zoo. We see something different every time and always make wonderful memories. There are some great opportunities for hands-on experiences around the zoo and plenty for the whole family to enjoy.

Manitou Cliff Dwellings

Manitou Cliff Dwellings

I love history so being able to walk through places that give me a glimpse of the past are always a favorite.

Manitou Cliff Dwellings lets you step into history and, unlike most old attractions, you are encouraged to get right in there and explore. Touching is not even off limits. They encourage you to experience the cliff dwellings any way you’d like.

This historic structure, located just west of Colorado Springs, is sure to be one of the highlights of your visit.
