Get preschoolers excited to learn the ABC’s by having them act out the alphabet. Read The Graphic Alphabet and talk about how each letter looks like the word on the page. Tell the preschoolers that they are going to get a chance to use their bodies to make each letter in the alphabet.

What You Need

A digital camera
A piece of poster board
A blank backdrop
Lots of happy preschoolers

What To Do

Have preschoolers form the shape of each letter of the alphabet by laying on a blank background. Some letters may require more than one preschooler to be part of the shape. The letter A can be formed with three preschoolers or by one preschooler bending at the waist. Take a picture of each letter of the alphabet as the preschoolers form the letter. When you have gone through the entire alphabet and taken a picture of each letter that you have formed print the pictures to make a poster. Glue the photos of the letter of the alphabet onto the poster board to make a fun and memorable alphabet poster.
