Blender Pancakes
It’s smart to have long-term food storage, especially now, but it does you no good if you don’t know how to use it. This blender pancake recipe uses that whole wheat that you may have been told to store … but have no clue what to do with it. You don’t need any special tools, just your regular blender, and these blender pancakes taste amazing when they are done.

When I was first introduced to the idea of blender pancakes, I was skeptical. I mean, I’d always been told that the only way to use whole grain wheat berries was to grind them up in a wheat grinder … which, incidentally, I don’t own.

I hated to have all of the whole grain wheat that I had stored in case of an emergency go to waste so I loved the idea of being able to use it up by making pancakes, something my family already makes several times a week.
This recipe requires only slightly more work than using a pancake mix and tastes infinitely better.

You don’t need any special equipment to make these. Your regular blender will get the job done just fine. I have a blendtec that I LOVE (you can get great deals on refurbished models here or find them on Amazon). I also have a Ninja blender that I love too because it has so many different features and it does just fine with this recipe.

This is a great way to get more whole grains into your diet and it is so easy to make. My kids love it and I know that I’m feeding them a healthy breakfast.
My family makes this for breakfast (and sometimes dinner) at least a few times a month and it’s been a weekly thing while we’ve been home lately with all of the Covid-19 craziness since we’ve had more time to make breakfast in the mornings.
We often add fresh fruit to these — bananas are our favorite — or top them with peanut butter or applesauce to make a really filling meal.
