Dixie Salad Recipe
If you are looking for a simple but delicious recipe for your Thanksgiving table, this Dixie Salad recipe will do the trick. A special treat that originated in Southern Utah, this salad recipe is always a hit.

I had never heard of Dixie Salad until I moved to St. George, Utah. During our first Thanksgiving here we quickly realized that there were loads of local pomegranate trees. The local grocery stores were overrun with them. After talking with a few locals, we were told that the most common way to use up pomegranates this time of year was by adding them to Dixie Salad.
Apparently, Dixie Salad came about because the main ingredients, pomegranates, apples, and pecans, are all things that grow locally and are ready to be enjoyed right around Thanksgiving. Throw in some fresh whipped cream and you have a simple, but very tasty salad that is perfect to add to your Thanksgiving table.
