Why a Little Gadget will Help your Kids Feel More Confident

What if you could add one thing to your back to school shopping list that you knew would help your teen or college student feel more confident, safe, and secure?
I don’t know any parent who would say no to that.
As this school year begins, my biggest concern is that my kids have a great school year. Making sure they stay safe is a big part of that.
I’m not typically an overly-cautious parent, but anyone who pays attention to the news these days knows that the world is rapidly becoming a very crazy place.
As a parent, it is a difficult balance between letting your kids have the independence they need to grow up and staying close by to keep them safe.
It’s embarrassing to admit how often I take advantage of the “Find my iPhone” feature on my son’s phone, but that only works if I am actively checking in on him and it definitely doesn’t empower him with the confidence that he can handle things on his own.
That is why I was excited to hear about the Wearsafe Tag.
The Wearsafe Tag is a small, wearable device that pairs with my son’s phone and makes it easy for him to discretely call for help by simply pushing a button.
How the Wearsafe Tag Works
When teens or young adults are faced with a potentially dangerous situation, they aren’t always able to reach for their phone. It may either be too far out of reach or may draw too much attention. The WearSafe Tag solves this problem. It is a small, discreet little button that you can clip anywhere that leaves it accessible.
The WearSafe Tag works in a few different ways:
Audio – As soon as the button is pushed, friends and family are transmitted live audio of what is going on and they can even rewind to 60 seconds before the ‘event’. This means that we all immediately know what conversation occurred that made my son nervous enough to push the button.
Group Chat – The app creates a “virtual situation room” which connects friends and family so they can figure out how to help as a group.
GPS – My son’s GPS coordinates are private and only shared when he presses the button on the tag.
Even though we live in a fairly safe area, my son likes the idea that if he ever gets in trouble, he only needs to push a button and help will be on the way.
He is kind of a tough guy and rarely likes to ask for help but as he becomes more and more independent, he has been faced with a few situations that have made him nervous. He found that he liked the vibration feature that periodically vibrates on the Wearsafe Tag after activation reassuring him and letting him know that it is working.
We tested it out and sent out an alert to see how it worked. I instantly
The Wearsafe Tag is a great tool that helps empower your child by providing reassurance that help is only the push of a button away.
If you are the parent of a teen or college student, The Wearsafe Tag can offer a sense of security knowing that your child has a way to call for help if it is needed. For only $4.99 a month (with no commitments), it seems like a great bargain for any parent that wants more piece of mind and wants to spend a little less time actively tracking their kid’s phone.
Try it free and help your teen or college student feel more confident as they head back to school.
