I thought that mattress was in good shape until I lay down on it. It was so incredibly uncomfortable. Time gets away from us and, even though I felt like that mattress was fairy new, it was actually about 8 years old.

It was definitely time to replace it.

The National Sleep Foundation recommends replacing your mattress every 5-7 years to get the best sleep. I can tell you that I didn’t follow that recommendation for a long time but I couldn’t believe what a difference having a new mattress made on the quality of sleep I get each night.

How to Order a Nectar Mattress

It comes rolled tightly and in a small(ish) box that is fairly easy to move where you need it.

The Nectar Mattress comes in a rectangular box that looks way too small to hold a mattress, but it’s in there! Opening it is easy. They even include a cutting tool to get the mattress out of the package.

When the mattress is first unrolled, it looks a bit flat. It puffs up over the next several hours until it reaches full size. I found that the pillows that came with it (nice touch!) took a bit longer to reach their full size.

What do we think of the Nectar Mattress?

We’ve tried quite a few mattresses over the past several years. They all have a slightly different feel. A lot of things come down to personal preference, but for me, I really loved the feel of the Nectar Mattress.

The outer cover was super soft and felt like it was great quality.

Many of you know, I’ve had some pretty major back issues over the last 6 months or so. At one point this fall, I couldn’t get out of bed and my doctor told me spinal surgery was on the table. Because of that, I’m super particular about what I sleep on (among other things).

A previous mattress I was using didn’t give me the support that I needed and aggravated my back issues. The one I used after that had better support but didn’t have the cushier feeling that I love.

Nectar has both support and a nice, cushy top. It reminds me of a pillow-top mattress a bit, but when you lay down, the mattress kind of hugs you. There’s still great support, but it has a bit of that plush feel that I love.

I find myself sneaking into my daughter’s bedroom whenever I want to take a nap, so I may need to get one for my own bed.
