Quilled Jack-O-Lantern – Paper Quilling Project for Kids

Have you ever tried paper quilling? This is such a fun craft activity for kids! These Quilled Jack-o-Lanterns look so cute when they are done and are the perfect activity for a Halloween party. Kids will love this Halloween craft. Hang them up when you are done for some festive homemade Halloween decorations!

I love the look of quilled paper projects. This technique is perfect for kids art pieces you want to put on display because they are so gorgeous when they are done, but they also can be used to make really unique cards.

This Quilled Jack-O-Lantern is such a fun Halloween craft for kids!

Quilled Jack-o-Lantern Supplies

• Quilling paper strips – orange, yellow and green. You can cut these from construction paper or buy quilling strips like these.
• Craft paper – orange and black
• Craft glue
• Pencil
• Slotted quilling tool – If you don’t have one, use a pencil.
• Scissors

Quilled Jack-o-Lantern Instructions

Prepare a bunch of 6 inches long orange colored quilling strips. Use the slotted quilling tool to make loose coil patterns with the prepared strips.

Take a piece of orange colored craft paper and cut out a pumpkin pattern from it.

Glue the orange colored loose coils on the cut out pumpkin pattern. Start to glue the coils around the border of the pumpkin.

One by one glue all the loose coils and fill the pumpkin pattern nicely with the loose coils.

Cut out the eyes, nose and mouth patterns for the jack-o-lantern from black colored craft paper or card stock paper.

Simply stick the items (eyes, nose and mouth of the jack-o-lantern) on the quilled pumpkin prepared in step 4.

Use green and yellow colored quilling strips to make stem (triangular shape), leaves (basic lens shape) and vines (loose coils).

Glue the stem (triangular shape) on the top middle part of the quilled pumpkin. Glue the leaves on both sides of the stem.

And last but not least, glue the loose coils on any one side of the stem.

Allow the glue to dry completely.
