Recipe – Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce
There are very few things that I like more than good vanilla ice-cream with homemade hot fudge sauce on top. I actually credit that with all the weight I gained during my twin pregnancy. . . and after. This recipe for homemade hot fudge sauce is incredibly easy to make and I usually have all the ingredients on hand to make it. Trust me, you’ll never go back to store bought sauce after this.
This recipe was adapted from one that my grandmother used to make. She ALWAYS had ice-cream at her house whenever we went to visit so, as far as I’m concerned, she’s an ice-cream expert.
Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 t. vanilla
Preparation
Mix all ingredients together in a small pot and heat on medium until butter has melted.
Boil together for 3-5 minutes until the sugar is dissolved and the sauce has begun to thicken up.
Remove from heat and let this cool slightly. This will keep in the fridge for several weeks.
