Are you looking forward to having a fantastic summer?
A few healthy habits can help you stay healthy this summer so you can enjoy all the fabulous things you have planned. We have some easy tips that will make a huge difference in your health this summer.
Staying on top of your own health can make a huge difference in the way you feel and your ability to enjoy your down time over the summer.
A few simple tricks can help you feel your best. My goals for summer are simple. I’m not planning on making any major changes, but I love that these small changes can really help me feel my best.
Stay hydrated
The sun, chlorine, and sand (not to mention the sweat) can do a number on your skin. Get in the habit of drinking plenty of water now so your skin can say nice and hydrated. Treat yourself to a great reusable water bottle now and use it all summer long. Keep it topped off and sip throughout the day. you may find that staying hydrated not only helps your skin look great but helps you feel your best too.
Add Vitamins to your Daily Routine
I’m guessing your summer plans will have you on the go a lot. Make sure you are getting the nutrients you need by taking a great multi-vitamin. My current favorites are New Chapter Vitamins. I love that they are made from organic vegetables and herbs and that they take a sustainable, whole-food approach to vitamins and supplements.
New Chapter actually ferments the individual vitamins and minerals with beneficial probiotics and whole foods to transform their multivitamins into whole-food fermented nutrients. And they are gentle enough that you can even take them on an empty stomach — perfect for when you are on-the-go during the summer.
They also have a great line designed just for pregnant or post-natal moms.
Being pregnant during the summer can really wipe you out so adding supplements to your routine is a must. While pregnant, your iron needs increase significantly and it can be difficult to make sure you are getting what you need. Perfect Prenatal provides 100% of the daily value of your iron needs as well as provides whole-food fermented B Vitamins that help your body naturally produce energy*

Use Sunscreen
Nothing spoils your summer like a nasty sunburn. Make sure you are reapplying sunscreen every few hours when you are outside and staying covered up with a hat or umbrella when you spend extended time at the beach.
Be especially careful when you are around the water. Apply your sunscreen at least a half an hour before you get in the water and make sure you are reapplying often.
Get plenty of sleep
With all the extra activity you’ll have during the summer months, it’s important to make sure you are getting enough sleep. If you struggle going to bed early, try moving your bedtime back just 30 minutes to start. Your body will adjust and you’ll be glad for that extra 30 minutes when it’s time to wake up in the morning.
Get outside
There’s something about being outside that recharges you. Get out and do some hiking, explore your city, or go for a swim. You’ll make some great memories with your kids and it will do everyone good to unplug for a while and enjoy being out in nature.
Take plenty of photos so you’ll remember those experiences long after summer is over.
