Easy Spaghetti Pizza Recipe
I didn’t cook as a teenager. My cooking skills were limited to brownie mixes and boxed mac and cheese. I started making an effort though when I realized that I was still going to want to eat once I went away to college. I found myself digging through a cookbook at school one day and came across a recipe for Spaghetti Pizza. I don’t know what it was about that particular recipe but I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I hand copied that recipe, went home, and made it the same day . . . and probably twice a week the entire time I was away at college.
This spaghetti pizza recipe is such a fun twist on a classic. This is the perfect comfort food and it’s so easy to make that now I put my kids in charge of cooking it. If your kids are interested in learning how to cook, this is a fun recipe to start with and it makes a quick and easy weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 box of spaghetti
- 2 T butter
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 jar of spaghetti sauce (16 oz)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preparation
This is so easy to make. Cook the spaghetti and drain it. Mix the spaghetti noodles with butter. Blend the eggs and parmesan cheese in a separate bowl then mix into the spaghetti noodles. Divide the spaghetti mixture in half and put it into two greased pie pans. Press it down so that it forms a pie crust. The center should be slightly thinner than the edges. I like to do this by putting my hand inside a sandwich baggie.
Meanwhile, brown the hamburger with onion and some chopped peppers (optional but yummy). Mix in the spaghetti sauce and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Pour about 2 cups of the hamburger mixture into each spaghetti crust. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake at 350º for about 20 minutes. Slice and serve. Yum!
