How to Find The Best Stroller Car Seat Combo

An infant car seat is one of the most important baby gear items that you will buy. Your baby’s car seat keeps your child safe and is one of the few items I never recommend buying used. Finding the perfect stroller car seat combo will also make your life SO MUCH easier. These are some of our favorite stroller car seat combinations that we recommend to new parents.

If you are expecting a new baby, trying to buy everything you need at once can be a bit overwhelming. The good news is, babies don’t actually need that much. There are a few key baby safety items that are must-haves and a great infant car seat is at the top of that list.

First, a note about used baby gear. I LOVE saving money on baby items by buying used items. Highly recommend it (especially if you are buying for twins) There are a few things that I DO NOT recommend buying new for safety reasons.

• Crib Mattresses
• Cribs (There are some exceptions to this rule but you still want to be sure that your crib meets current safety standards and was well-maintained)

An infant car seat is the one item that I really recommend buying the best quality you can afford. This is the car seat that could save your baby’s life in the event of a car accident and that is worth whatever you need to pay for it.

Your infant car seat is also something that you will be using on a daily basis for at least the first year of your baby’s life so you want something that is sturdy enough to stand up to a lot of use. To get the most out of your infant car seat, a great stroller car seat combo will make going anywhere with your baby so much easier.

Britax B-Safe and B-Free Stroller Car Seat Combo

The Britax B-Safe is right up there as one of my top picks for infant car seats. I used this car seat when my twins were infants and I loved how confident I was in their safety while in the car. Britax is one of the top rated car seat brands and they are constantly working on improving their seats. It just so happens that Britax also makes some pretty amazing strollers, and that’s great news if you are looking for a great stroller car seat combo!

Combine the B-Safe with the B-Free stroller, a lightweight that also had a great one-handed quick fold, and you’ll seriously simplify all of your outings with your baby. This stroller car seat combo is really affordable and a great option if you want quality baby gear on a budget.

Britax B-Safe and BOB Rambler 

Do you live an active lifestyle? This stroller car seat combo sticks with the fantastic Britax B-Safe infant car seat but combines it with the BOB Rambler stroller. You get all the great safety features of the B-Safe but gain the ability to go over any terrain.

BOB strollers are the best when it comes to off-road or jogging strollers. I had a double BOB with my twins and we took it everywhere. The BOB Rambler features a swiveling front wheel, which makes it perfect for anything from trips to the store to jogs on some gorgeous trails. One of the things I LOVE about BOB strollers is they are so comfortable to push. I’m not much of a runner but I loved the ease of pushing the BOB anywhere I wanted to go. The basket is smaller on this stroller than you’d get in many non-jogging strollers but if you will be doing any heavier activities, the benefits definitely outweigh any negatives.

Chicco KeyFit 30 and Caddy Frame Stroller

The Chicco KeyFit 30 is also a top rated car seat. I used this seat with my daughter and absolutely loved it. It’s fairly lightweight and comfortable to carry but the best part is their safety ratings are phenomenal. The downside is, I do not love the Chicco travel systems as I find that many of the strollers are not as sturdy as others that you can find.

I do LOVE the Chicco KeyFit 30 when combined with the Chicco KeyFit Caddy Frame Stroller if you just need a quick and easy option to run into stores. This stroller is not great for longer outings like the zoo and definitely won’t hold up to all terrain surfaces but it is fantastic if you want something that you can pop in and out of the car quickly. As an alternative, you can get adaptors that will allow you to use this car seat in most other strollers (my favorite is the Britax B-Ready).

Doona Infant Car Seat & Latch Base 

The Doona infant car seat and stroller is a very unique design in which the stroller is built right into the car seat. It is designed to convert the car seat into a stroller with one simple motion, saving you the hassle of having to pull a separate stroller out of the car. This is such a huge time-saver for new parents and a great space-saver as well. The best part though, is that the car seat itself has done very well with safety ratings so you can be confident that your child is protected in the car.

UPPAbaby Vista V2 Stroller and Mesa Infant Car Seat

When it comes to luxury strollers, UPPAbaby is right at the top of the list. The UPPAbaby Vista is well known as a fantastic everyday stroller and it includes plenty of upper end features like a shock absorbing suspension and the ability to convert to a double or even a triple stroller if needed. This stroller is a bit more of an investment but it has the potential to be the only stroller you’ll ever need, even if you plan to have another baby down the road.
