Recipe: Steak and Bell Pepper Pizza with A1 Tomato Sauce
We love making homemade pizza at my house. For one thing, it’s cheaper, and I’m always looking for ways to save money — but I also love that I can control the ingredients. That means I can use high quality ingredients without any extra additives and I can customize pizza to suit my families preferences.
This easy steak and bell pepper pizza is made with an A1 flavored tomato sauce and the flavor combination is amazing. We make this using leftover steak and can stretch a very small amount of meat into another meal.
Ingredients
- Grilled steak, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- Tomato paste
- A1 steak sauce
- Mozzarella cheese
- Pizza dough (Try our easy homemade pizza dough recipe here)
Preparation
Prepare your pizza dough by spreading it out on a pizza stone or baking tray. To prevent sticking, you can spread a thin layer of cornmeal down first. Bake your pizza dough according to whatever recipe you are using so that the dough isn’t soggy when you add toppings.
In a pan, grill the sliced steak, pepper, and onion for a few minutes until the veggies are cooked. You can add some extra seasoning here if you like. I love throwing some garlic in here but the flavor is amazing on it’s own.
In a small bowl, thin out 2-3 TBSP’s of tomato paste with about 1 TBSP of A1 steak sauce. A little goes a long way here so be sure you don’t overpower your sauce.
Spread a thin layer of sauce on your precooked pizza dough. This is a strong sauce so you don’t need much.
Top with steak, peppers, onions, and cheese. Bake at 450° for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
