If you blog, whether as a content creator or as a marketing tool for your small business, you know how challenging it can be to keep up with your marketing calendar. The marketing calendar by CoSchedule makes it so much easier to stay on top of your blogging plan and make sure every task is completed when it needs to be. Find out how we use CoSchedule to simplify blogging.

Whether you are a brand new blogger just starting your blog or you’ve been blogging for years, a marketing calendar is so important to your success. Having a plan and being able to implement it can mean the difference between a successful blog and one that slowly fizzles out.
There are so many different ways to manage a marketing calendar, and I promise, I’ve probably tried most of them. I’ve used everything from a paper marketing calendar, a spreadsheet, and over a dozen different online tools trying to find something that worked well for me. What I settled with is CoSchedule and I’ve been happily using it to manage my marketing calendar for the last several years.
What is CoSchedule
CoSchedule is a social media tool that allows you to schedule posts, including a handy requeue list that helps you continue to share older posts. The tool itself makes it so easy to schedule posts and updates to your social channels, including Facebook groups.
I schedule my one-time updates through CoSchedule, but the biggest benefit for me is that requeue schedule because I can do the work once and then continue to share posts year after year. This is especially handy when it comes to holiday posts. Rather than scheduling all of my holiday posts each year, I add them all to a requeue list and then set the dates I want those posts to run each year.
How to Use the Marketing Calendar by CoSchedule

The CoSchedule marketing calendar is a beautiful thing. It functions as a calendar of your future posts as well as a project management tool, allowing you to keep track of to-do list items, future blog posts you’d like to write, and newsletters you’d like to schedule.
Being able to see everything at a glance helps so much with planning your editorial calendar and being able to see any gaps that need to be filled in.
Integrate your Calendar with WordPress
This may be one of my favorite features of the Marketing Calendar by CoSchedule. While you can certainly login to the CoSchedule site itself, and I often do, you can also add things to your marketing calendar directly from your blog post. This is such a huge time-saver for me and I just make this a regular part of my workflow for each blog post that I write.

Being able to add things to my marketing calendar from WordPress elminiates the possibility of things being missed later on. I love that I have so much control over the time frame of social shares. I t allows me to work ahead in a way that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.
Use the ReQueue Groups to Fill your Marketing Calendar
When I put the time into something, I like to do the work once and benefit from it long-term. The ReQueue schedule on CoSchedule let’s me do just that. I’m able to add old posts to different categories and reuse them seasonally year after year. This is such a huge time saver for me and lets me fill my marketing calendar with minimal work.

Having such an easy way to manage my marketing calendar and simplify my workflow makes my life so much easier and is probably the only way I’m able to get as much done as I do. Learn more about CoSchedule or sign up for a trial here.
