Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread
Banana bread is a classic comfort food and it never lasts long at my house. This Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread takes your banana bread game up to a whole new level. When you make this banana bread recipe, be prepared to double it because this is usually gobbled up as soon as I pull it out of the oven.
I’m pretty sure banana bread was the first thing I ever learned how to bake. It’s so easy to throw together and such a great way to use up those too-ripe bananas that always seem to be laying around.
Making banana bread used to be a weekly occurrence at my house. I got out of the habit of making it for some reason and we’ve been wasting a lot of bananas since then.
Bananas are totally a staple at my house. My kids eat them like crazy but, we always end up with overly ripe bananas, despite our best intentions. I HATE wasting food, so banana bread appeals to my frugal side . . . at least that’s what I tell myself while I’m scarfing down slice after slice of warm banana bread.
This Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Recipe is even better than the classic banana bread recipe. My family can’t get enough of this so I always have to double the recipe.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter
- 2 ripe bananas
- 3/8 cup of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 3/8 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup PB Fit – This stuff is SO good! It has fewer calories and less fat than regular peanut butter but all of the flavor and protein. Because it is powdered, it’s a bit easier to use when baking too. I throw it into all kinds of things. You can find it on Amazon here.
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 Tbsp milk
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°.
Cream together the butter, bananas, sugar and eggs.
Combine the dry ingredients and mix into the wet ingredients until just combined. Add in the milk, to thin the batter just a bit, then stir in the chocolate chips. You could leave these out . . . but why would you?
Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.
Let the loaf cool on a cooling rack before slicing.

Can I use regular peanut butter?
This sounds like the perfect snack bread. WOW!
I’ll start with a least 2 loaves please.
You could, but it may make the bread a bit moister. It’s on my list to try it sometime. I just find the powdered peanut butter is easier to work with and I like that it has less fat so that’s my go-to.
This looks wonderful. I love peanut butter and banana but never tried making it into a bread. I am so excited to try this. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. I can imagine how good it will smell.
I can’t get the powdered peanut butter either – seems like a great idea! Maybe with regular peanut butter, it would be a bit too dense? I’m not sure! Thanks!
Rachel, this recipe looks so good ,can’t wait to try it. Can I use regular PB ?
I believe Wal Mart carries the peanut butter powder but a different brand, I used to add it to my protein shakes
